Solomon's Stream trail is located just a few minutes drive from the beach and southern hotel area of Eilat. But when you get there you'll feel like you're in the heart of the desert.
Solomon's Stream descends gently from the Eilat mountains to the Red Sea, this is a fascinating trail of mixed rock types and amazing desert landscapes where you can see rocks in various colors, ibex wandering peacefully alongside acacia and tamarisk trees.
The stream is located in the Eilat Massif Nature Reserve, and the route passes at the foot of Mount Zefachot (which is a rock made of clay layers), Mount Yehoshafat, Rechavam and of course Mount Solomon. The common plant in the channel is Resen Dak (edible), this is a very thorny subshrub that blooms for many months a year with blue single-lipped flowers.
Most of the year the trail is dry because flood waters reach it rarely, so the plants growing along the stream have developed special and interesting properties for water storage and seed dispersal. The landscape is wonderful, the quiet is felt in every corner as well as the endless desert spaces that radiate an atmosphere of complete shanti, calm and disconnection from civilization.
It's important to bring water and it's recommended to hike all year round. The Solomon's Stream trail can also be done on foot or by bike but driving an ATV is the most fun experience and combined with magical landscapes it's a real adventure. You can drive with a valid category B driver's license. It's possible to drive even if you still have a companion or if you're a new driver.
Most people who come to us drive an ATV for the first time. The route we ride on is mostly flat and considered easy difficulty level. Driving an ATV is handlebar driving like a motorcycle and bicycle, after a few minutes you'll get used to it quickly and be able to enjoy the whole route. In front of you drives a guide who shows the way and gives additional instructions if necessary. We ride on Solomon's Stream trail in Eilat which is a nature reserve trail.
Of course! With all the fun, it's important to remember that the ATV is a vehicle like any other. Before going out on the trail the guide will give a safety briefing to all group members and if you need further explanation the guide will be happy to help. It's important to follow safety precautions. The size of the ATV and the fact that it's an open vehicle allows for enjoyable and experiential riding but at the same time it's important to remember that this is a ride that must be done carefully. An ATV may carry 2 participants by law. There is a total weight limit of 150 kilograms. A Ranger may carry 4 participants by law (no weight limit).
We work all year round including weekends and holidays. A new tour departs every two hours and you can register in advance. Operating hours every day from 9am to 8pm.
You must take your driver's license. You should bring water. It is recommended to arrive with closed shoes. It's important to arrive on time before the tour and most importantly don't forget phones for Instagram photos.
The minimum age for participation is 5 years.
